John Walker – Partner and Data Protection Officer

John qualified as a solicitor in 1996, and has worked in the fields of Children and  Education Law since 1998. He has worked in Local Authorities, private practice and as a sole practitioner. He regularly delivers training on a range of legal issues that relate to schools. He has advised about Data Protection and compliance since the 1998 Act and is a Data Protection Officer for a number of schools and trusts.

John was a SEN mediator and trainer following the 2014 SEN reforms. For many years he acted for Local Authorities, children and families in Care and Adoption proceedings and has advised on many safeguarding cases in addition to education issues. John has also been a school governor and Chair of Governors.
