Who are we?

Antony has considerable experience across a number of sectors including education, healthcare and complex projects. Having spent the majority of his career working in the City of London, he moved to the South West in 2013 where he established and grew one of the largest education practices in the UK.

John qualified as a solicitor in 1996, and has worked in the fields of Children and Education Law since 1998. He has worked in Local Authorities, private practice and as a sole practitioner. He regularly delivers training on a range of legal issues that relate to schools. He has advised about Data Protection and compliance since the 1998 Act and is a Data Protection Officer for a number of schools and trusts.

From graduating with a Business Management Degree, Josie has over 20 years business operation experience, predominantly in the education sector. She has gained a broad range of executive level experience and project management expertise along the way, gaining MCIPS, ILM 4 in Leadership and becoming a certified GDPR practitioner.

Laura has been providing legal support and advice to schools and academies for over six years. Starting her career at a top 100 law firm, she was instrumental in growing the education team at that firm to be one of the largest and best respected in the Country.

Louise qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and has developed a formidable reputation as an employment law specialist. She has supported schools and trusts for well over a decade and has not only technical knowledge of employment law as it relates to schools, but the ability to support schools in a friendly and accessible manner.

Russell is a Barrister and partner at PHP. He has considerable expertise in the fields of education, employment and public law having been called to the Bar in 2008.

In 2015 Darren completed his undergraduate legal studies at the old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and has since gone on to study a master’s in law and sucessfully complete the vocational stage of solicitor training with specialisms in commercial law, employment law, family law, international law, and human rights.

David has held senior leadership positions as Head Teacher, Chief Executive of a Multi Academy Trust and Diocesan Director of Education.

Fiona’s interest in law started when she began her career working for criminal solicitors in Covent Garden. After nearly ten years of being involved in high profile criminal cases, Fiona spent the next few years raising her family.

The next period of her career was spent at a secondary school where she worked for eighteen years before joining the team. During her time there her roles ranged from Higher Level Teaching Assistant, tutor to 3 tutor groups, cover supervisor and ending as Compliance Officer which involved managing policies, arranging school educational visits as EVC, data protection and health & safety and facilities management.

James has over 20 years of experience in the education and further education sector, with specialist expertise in MIS, further education funding, funding optimisation, data returns and internal audit.

Jason is an Associate at PHP Law, and joined the team in 2022. Prior to joining PHP Law, Jason previously worked in the legal department of a Local Authority for over a decade advising on a wide range of property law matters developing a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Jenny started her career in a solicitors’ practice in 1996, and for many years represented parents under legal aid in Children Act matters. This was followed by several years as a legal officer working for the Local Authority, representing Social Services in public and private Children Act proceedings.

Jordan is the Accounts Manager and a Senior Paralegal at PHP Law, and joined the team in 2020.

Scarlett’s career began in 2020 as a legal assistant and has established three years of experience. She has built upon her academic foundations in Business and Law through successfully completing an apprenticeship in Business Administration within the Legal Environment. Scarlett is currently undertaking a Data Protection and Information Governance qualification to support her professional development.
